Mohawk College is partnering with McMaster University to host the 2017 Canadian Bureau for International Education Ontario Regional Meeting/Ontario Association of International Education Conference in Hamilton at both campuses on June 19 and 20th, 2017.   The conference theme is Education City: Welcoming Communities and Lifelong Learning.  The Planning Committee is distributing this call for session presentations to individuals and Ontario institutions involved in international education. Sessions should reflect the vision of the conference Education City but can also relate to different areas of interest or challenges within the International Education community.

Sessions will be organized in 3 main sub-themes to the overall conference theme:

  1. Welcoming Communities (Global Engagement & Community Development)

    Educational institutions as learning hubs for global and local communities;

    Success stories of effective multi-sectoral programs or services (education, private and government sectors complementing each other’s goals.)
  2. Successful Transitions (Inter-institutional and Campus Programming & Support)

    Exploration of transitional programs across institutions, sharing of best practices in supporting applicants and students, peer mentorships and other strategies to promote innovative learning environments, creativity and learner engagement.
  3. Partnerships, Collaborations & Mobility

    International internships and skills development, long-term programs and research experience.
