Waterloo-Wellington TESL is proud to present its very own website with the assistance of Kevin O’Brien from TESL ON.
Waterloo-Wellington TESL (TESL WW) is an affiliate of TESL Ontario (TESL ON). It is a non-profit, volunteer organization of educators and specialists who serve the professional needs of practitioners of English as a second language from school boards, LINC, post-secondary institutions, colleges and other private organizations. TESL WW has ESL providers in many communities, large and small, including Arthur, Cambridge, Guelph, Kitchener, Mount Forest, Orangeville, and Waterloo. There are just under 200 TESL members teaching children and adults.
We plan at least two professional development workshops annually as well as have an annual general meeting. We usually have one in the fall and one in the spring. These are excellent opportunities to network with our counterparts from different sectors as well as catch up on fresh, practical ideas. Occasionally, at the PD sessions there is also a publishers’ display. We’ve just recently had a wonderful Pronunciation Workshop and were entertained and enlightened by two leaders in the field; Judy Gilbert and Olle Kjellin.
TESL WW publishes a newsletter 3 times a year. Lesson plans, book reviews, future professional development and other tips can be found in the newsletters. Check out our latest newsletter online.
The TESL WW affiliate information is online now. You will receive information over the Internet. If you would rather receive paper copies, please let one of the TESL WW Executive know.
This website will keep our members informed about future events at a local, provincial and national level, provide you with resource information for your professional development and give you the opportunity to contact us. We welcome your questions, comments and concerns.
