If your CTESOL Certificate of Accreditation and Professional Designation has expired, you can have it reinstated at any time. Reinstatement applications are processed in a maximum of two weeks from the date of receipt. Valid membership with a provincial TESL organization is required at the time of application.
II. Reinstatement Application Process Steps
- Print, fill out, and sign the Application Form A-7.

Once your reinstatement application is reviewed and approved, your CTESOL Certificate of Accreditation and Professional
Designation and the reinstatement approval letter are issued and mailed to your address. The review process takes about 2-4
weeks from the date the application is received.
III. PD Requirement
Once your CTESOL reinstatement application is received and reviewed, you are notified by email if proof of 10 hours of professional development (PD) is required. IV. Fee and Method of Payment
The CTESOL reinstatement application fee includes a one-time administration fee of $135.60 (tax included), which must be paid at the time of application, and a pro-rated annual accreditation fee (a maximum of $90.40- tax included) which is calculated and charged after the reinstatement application is reviewed. The pro-rated annual accreditation fee covers the period from the reinstatement approval date to the applicant's membership annual renewal date ( a maximum of 12 months).
The reinstatement application fee is payable to TESL Ontario and can be paid by cheque, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or cash (in person).
For operational reasons, TESL Ontario reserves the right to extend the application processing time, as necessary. TESL Ontario may request additional documentation beyond the requirements described above. All submitted documentation and information will be kept confidential. We strongly recommend that you keep photocopies of all submitted forms and documents for your own records. The requirements of CTESOL accreditation reinstatement may change without notice.
